Dr. Shields
Julian Shields, PhD, CRC, is a vocational expert who provides vocational consulting in cases involving traumatic brain injury, neurological injury, physical injury and other injuries. He is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and holds the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
Dr. Shields received his bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Service with a Concentration in Addiction Studies followed by a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Alabama State University College of Health Sciences. He obtained his PhD in counselor education from Auburn University. He has also published articles entitled “Strategies for Improving Employment Outcomes of Veterans Diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” and “Position Paper on Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Education Level Requirements for Providers of Transition Assessments and Career Development” in The Rehabilitation Professional, the official journal of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals.
Dr. Shields has been appointed by The Social Security Administration and review to testify as a vocational expert in over 400 hearings to date. He has extensive experience providing tailor made vocational services to meet the unique vocational needs of each case.
